A Vision for Accessibility and Empowerment
Since its inception in 2015, Eilya Care Foundation has been dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs, ensuring they have access to the care and opportunities they deserve. However, operating from rented spaces presented constant challenges, particularly in maintaining accessibility for people with disabilities. Recognizing this limitation, our Founder President, Nadia Kamran Raza, embarked on a journey in 2016 to establish a purpose-built facility—a sanctuary designed with inclusivity and accessibility at its core.
The Journey: From Dream to Reality
The dream of creating a purpose-built facility for individuals with special needs started with a simple vision that I, Nadia Kamran Raza, shared with close friends and family. Fundraising began as a steady effort, with each contribution bringing us closer to our goal. To bring the vision to life, I worked with an architect to design a detailed plan that would inspire further support from the community.
Over seven years, we raised 4.7 million PKR, but finding the right land was a challenge that took over a year and a half. In 2017, we found the perfect plot in Park Town, near the Sheikhupura and Express Way. However, the cost of the land, including registration, amounted to 9.7 million PKR, and we had just two months to secure the remaining funds.
In that moment of uncertainty, I reminded myself, “This is not for me; this is for Allah, for His creation. My responsibility is to serve His people, and it is His responsibility to guide and support me.” By the grace of Allah, within two months, we raised the necessary funds, and Alhamdulillah, the land was secured. Construction began, turning our dream into reality.
This journey has been one of faith, perseverance, and community support. Together, we are building a space that will empower individuals with special needs and transform lives.
